Full Biography: Hailing from the cotton fields and moonshine stills of rural South Carolina, Rodie Ray, the melodic indie swamp-pop songstress and Lilith Fair veteran will leave you hearing “southern” voices in your head. Well known as a prolific songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Rodie has a knack for crafting mood altering, lyrically provocative stories with a dollop of twang.  

Her debut CD, Kick Pleat Skirt, garnered an invitation from Sarah McLachlan to join the Lilith Fair tour. She has shared the stage with Grammy Award winners Sarah McLachlan and Bonnie Raitt. In addition to headlining with country music legend Merle Haggard, she has served as a supporting artist for Grammy Award winner blues legend Taj Mahal and Blue Note recording artist Amos Lee.

Rodie has since released two additional records: Fistful of Clever and Hazy Bittersweet. Hazy Bittersweet, released 04.17.07 was penned, recorded and all instruments on the album were performed by her. She is currently recording Pick the Spare, her upcoming release, with her band- Brian Pierce on drums, guitarist Don Burch and bassist John Blalock.
